/ About
The Rosebery is the afternoon tea room of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, on the hotel's ground floor and opening off its lobby on Knightsbridge. Joyce Wang redesigned it during the hotel's restoration, in a nature-inspired scheme that pays homage to Hyde Park.
Afternoon tea runs from midday until 7.30pm. The hotel's pastry team makes everything in-house, and the sandwiches, pastries and scones come on hanging cake stands, with a list of 29 loose-leaf teas and pairings of wine, sake, beer or sparkling tea. The menu changes with the seasons, and the autumn tea draws on Hyde Park's history as a Tudor hunting ground. Breakfast and all-day dining are served in the same room, and the Mandarin Cake Shop sells the pastry team's cakes to take home.
For private events the whole lounge can be hired for up to 60 guests, and a semi-private area takes 30. It works for a birthday or a celebration tea, with the hotel's ballroom and function rooms in the same building for a party that carries on into the evening.
