The First Face Guests Meet on Arrival
The door, the guest list and the floor — for private dinners, receptions and brand nights across London.
/ About the Role
LIT.ME Events is looking for friendly, professional hostesses for parties, corporate events, receptions and dinners across London.
You’ll be the first person guests meet when they arrive, and the one they turn to when they need something. It’s a role for someone who enjoys people, stays calm when the room gets busy, and takes pride in making every guest feel looked after.
You’ll work alongside the event and venue teams to help each evening run smoothly. Bookings are freelance, mainly evenings and weekends, so you can fit the work around your studies, another job or your own plans.
Every event is a little different. Before each one, you’ll get a briefing on the venue, the timings, the dress code and anything special about the guests, so you always know what to expect when you walk in.
/ What You’ll Do
No two events are the same, but a typical booking includes:
- Welcome guests on arrival and manage guest-list check-in.
- Help with directions, seating and cloakroom arrangements.
- Assist with welcome drinks, name badges and event materials.
- Look after VIP areas and any guests the event team asks you to watch for.
- Answer questions and support guests throughout the event.
- Keep an eye on the room and let the team know if anything needs attention.
- Assist the team with setup before guests arrive and closing tasks at the end.
/ What We’re Looking For
You don’t need years of experience, but these things matter to us:
- Experience in hospitality, events or customer service, such as front of house, restaurants, members’ clubs, retail or exhibitions.
- A friendly manner, good communication and fluent English. Other languages are a bonus.
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional appearance.
- A calm, positive attitude, especially when plans change at short notice.
- Respect for guests’ privacy. What happens at an event stays there, with no photos or social posts.
- Comfort with standing during shifts and following the event dress code, which may include black tie.
- Availability for evenings and weekends.
- Aged 18 or over, based in London and eligible to work in the UK.
/ What We Offer
- A varied mix of events across London, from intimate dinners to large receptions and brand launches.
- Fees agreed in writing before each booking, so you always know where you stand.
- Flexible, freelance work that you choose to accept event by event.
- A profile on our website with your own links.
