The Moving Image of the House
Titles, loops and screen content built to the pixel map you are actually given.
/ About the Role
LIT.ME Events is looking for motion designers to make the moving image for private parties, corporate events and club nights across London — title sequences, screen and LED content, kinetic type and short-form film.
The work is freelance and booked per project. A job might be an animated invitation and a set of Stories two weeks out, a title sequence and a looping backdrop for the night itself, and a ninety-second recap cut the following morning while the client is still awake to it.
Screen work here is rarely 1920×1080. LED walls come at whatever pixel dimensions the supplier built them to, projection lands on a wall with a pillar in it, and the spec often arrives late and changes twice. You will be given the pixel map and the frame rate, and you will need to design to them rather than resize afterwards.
Some of this you will never be able to put in your reel. We ask before anything is shown, and the answer is sometimes no.
/ Responsibilities
What a project asks of you varies. In practice, the work is:
- Designing and animating titles, kinetic type and screen graphics for the room
- Building to the actual LED, projection or screen spec — pixel dimensions, frame rate, safe areas, file format
- Cutting short-form film: invitations, Stories and Reels, and the post-event recap
- Delivering loops that survive three hours on a wall without becoming irritating
- Working to the client’s brand where they have one, and setting the look where they do not
- Getting content to the video operator early enough for it to be tested on the actual system
- Turning around a change on the day of the event, because there is always one
/ Candidate Profile
We watch the reel first. Beyond that:
- A reel of motion work — screen content, titles or short-form film
- Fluent in After Effects and Premiere; Cinema 4D, Illustrator or Photoshop useful; Resolume, Notch or a media server a real advantage
- A good hand with type, pacing and cutting to music
- Comfortable being handed a pixel map and a deadline, and asking the right questions about both
- Able to work unsupervised and make the call yourself
- Live-event, nightlife, hospitality or luxury brand work is useful, not required
- Based in London or working UK hours, with the right to work in the UK
/ What We Offer
