/ About the Role
LIT.ME Events is looking for DJs and music curators to play at private parties, corporate events and club nights across London.
The work is freelance and booked event by event. A booking can be anything from low-volume selections through a dinner to the closing stretch of a party or a full club night. You get the brief before you accept it: venue, timings, the kit that is already in the room, and what the client wants and does not want to hear.
Most rooms are already fitted — CDJs and a DJM, or a house system you plug into. You bring your music on two USB sticks, your own headphones, and the adaptors, because something is always missing. Timings move on the night, and you take direction from the event lead when they do. Client events stay private: no posting from the booth, no names, no photographs of guests.
/ Responsibilities
What a night asks of you varies. In practice, the job is:
- Building the night to the brief — the quiet hours, the peak, and the last record
- Reading the floor as it changes and moving with it, in tempo, genre and volume
- Arriving in time to check the kit and levels before guests do
- Bringing your music twice over, on two drives, and the adaptors to connect to anything
- Agreeing sound, timings and transitions with the event lead, the venue and the production crew
- Honouring the client’s do-not-play list, and the venue’s curfew and volume limiter
- Handling requests from guests, including the ones you are not going to play
/ Candidate Profile
We are not counting your followers. These are the things we actually look at:
- Several years playing private events, luxury hospitality or members’ clubs — not only your own nights
- Open format and a wide record collection: house, disco, soul, R&B, Greek and wider Mediterranean, and the songs a room of any age knows
- Fluent on CDJs and rekordbox, and able to walk into an unfamiliar booth and work out the setup
- Your own controller or players for venues with nothing installed, PAT-tested equipment and public liability insurance
- Availability on evenings, weekends and through December
- Based in London or able to get here reliably, with the right to work in the UK
- A recorded mix we can listen to end to end

We bring you the work, and you agree the fee in writing before you take anything on.
