/ About the Role

LIT.ME Events is looking for photographers and videographers to document private events, corporate events and club nights across London.

The work is freelance and booked event by event. A typical brief covers the room before guests arrive, arrivals, dinner, the speeches, the dancefloor, and the details the client paid for and will want to see. You get a shot list where there is one, and a name for the two or three people who must be photographed.

Turnaround is the part most people underestimate. We want a first selection of twenty to thirty images by midday the following day, for the client to post while the event is still current, and the full edited gallery within five working days. Rooms are dark, flash is often not welcome, and there is rarely a ceiling worth bouncing off — so most of this is shot fast and wide open.

The images belong to the client. Nothing goes on your own channels without written permission, and there are events you will shoot that you will never be able to show anyone.

/ Responsibilities

What a night asks of you varies. In practice, the job is:

  • Shooting stills, film, or both across private parties, corporate events and club nights
  • Covering the room empty, the arrivals, the speeches, the floor and the details
  • Getting the named guests the client has asked for, without making a scene of it
  • Delivering a first selection by midday the next day, and the full edited gallery within five working days
  • Cutting vertical versions for Stories and Reels where the brief asks for them
  • Editing and grading your own work, to a look that stays consistent across the set
  • Shooting to two cards in-camera, and offloading to two separate drives before anything is deleted

/ Candidate Profile

We look at the work, not the kit list. That said:

  • Three or more years shooting paid events, and a portfolio of real ones — not only styled shoots or studio work
  • Fluent in manual, and confident in low and mixed light with and without flash
  • Your own kit: two bodies with dual card slots, and fast glass at f/1.8 or wider
  • Lightroom and Photoshop, or the equivalent — Premiere or Final Cut if you are cutting film
  • Public liability insurance at the level most London hotels and private members' clubs ask to see, and your own equipment cover
  • The capacity to hold that turnaround through the season, not only on a quiet week
  • The manner to work a room of private guests without ever being in the way
  • Availability on evenings and weekends, and through the November to December run
  • Based in London or able to get here reliably, with the right to work in the UK
