The Latimer

The Latimer is a Victorian corner pub on Latimer Road, at the North Kensington end of Notting Hill, reopened in April 2026 by the Spiteri family. For years the building traded as Ariadne's Nectar Bar, a local once favoured by members of The Clash and Blur. Jon Spiteri was an original partner in The French House Dining Room, St John and Sessions Arts Club; Melanie Arnold co-founded Rochelle Canteen. Their sons Lorcan and Fin, previously of Caravel, run the kitchen and the bar, and their daughter Molly completes the team.

The ground floor is split in two. The front half is a proper pub, with small brass-topped tables, velvet stools, beer on draught and a short cocktail list led by a frozen Martini. The back half is a dining room with white tablecloths, dark banquettes and green walls hung with photographs chosen by the family. Lorcan's cooking is seasonal and British at heart, with a separate bar menu for those who come in for a drink. A street terrace at the front stays open all year.

The pub takes large tables and private dining for birthdays, engagement parties, client dinners and wedding receptions, with set and bespoke menus for groups. Exclusive hire of the whole pub is offered on request, depending on the date. It suits a relaxed dinner for a family or a close circle of friends in a room with real neighbourhood character.
