The Cuckoo Club

Tucked down Swallow Street between Regent Street and Piccadilly, The Cuckoo Club has held its corner of Mayfair long enough to outlast most of the rooms that opened around it. Across two floors of mirrors, mahogany and velvet, it trades in the kind of theatrical, members'-club glamour that has drawn a fashion and music crowd since it opened, and it still books in DJ sets and live performance most nights it trades.

The upper floor, Cosmo, is the room you arrive into: a celestial lounge under a glowing LED ceiling, with a horseshoe of velvet banquettes around a central illuminated bar and an arched back bar behind. Downstairs, The Garden is the club's hidden lower room, an intimate space of floral canopies, sculptural lighting and a geometric floor built around a custom sound system for late-night dancing. The contrast is the point: one room for the entrance and the show, one room below for the small hours.

Both floors take private hire, together or separately, for launches, celebrations and intimate parties. With a resident DJ setup, a serious in-house sound system and a late licence, it is a ready-made stage for a curated DJ night without the need to build a room from scratch.
