Sunday in Brooklyn Notting Hill

Sunday in Brooklyn crossed the Atlantic in July 2021, taking the corner of Westbourne Grove and Hereford Road for the Williamsburg restaurant's first site outside New York. Todd Enany, Adam Landsman and chef Jaime Young opened the original in 2016; the London room keeps its register, which is American cooking done seriously and served without ceremony. Green-and-white striped awnings wrap the corner. Inside, a canopy of hanging greenery runs the length of the ground floor over hexagonal terracotta tiles, a brick pier and a long back bar.

The building works as two rooms on two floors. The ground-floor Dining Room is the light one, open-plan under wrap-around windows, with its own bar and space for 95 seated or 120 standing. Below it sits The Brooklyn Parlour, a beamed lower-ground room of exposed brick arches, planted alcoves and a second private bar, at 55 seated or 70 standing. Off it, The Union Room seats 16 at a single dressed table against the brickwork. Taken together the two floors hire exclusively for 150 seated or 200 standing.

For a party that runs late, the house sells the two floors as one evening: dinner upstairs, then the lower ground for the rest of the night. The Parlour's own copy proposes a live band or a DJ down there, and the room is set up for guests to run their own music. Kensington and Chelsea couples book it for wedding receptions; the events team also takes product launches, birthdays and corporate parties. Weekend brunch is walk-in and busy, so private dates are worth asking about early.
