Stanley's Rooftop Bar

Stanley's is the rooftop bar on the fifth floor of The Chesterfield Mayfair, the Red Carnation hotel on Charles Street. It is named for Stanley Tollman, who founded the Red Carnation collection, and a natural-stone mosaic of him by Maggy Howarth Studio is set into the rooftop. Guests arrive along a walkway lined with Saudade in Yellow, a cubist-inspired artwork of interwoven profiles.

The terrace sits under a fully retractable roof with enclosed sides, so it works all year: covered and heated on cooler evenings, with blankets on hand. The bar serves seasonal signature cocktails, bar plates and dishes to share. A cigar service runs every evening from a selection that takes in Cuban classics and rare aged cigars, and live music plays on selected evenings.

The whole rooftop is available for exclusive hire, for up to 60 guests at a reception or a banquet, or 34 around a single oval table. Menus for private events are written with the hotel's Executive Chef and run from canapés and light bites to a buffet lunch or a private dinner, with cocktails to match. It suits a client reception or a private celebration with a view across Mayfair.
