The Luggage Room

The Luggage Room occupies the former left-luggage store of the London Marriott Grosvenor Square, reached by its own door and doorbell on Duke Street. It opened as a 1920s-style speakeasy and was named Mayfair's best bar in 2013 and again in 2018. Behind the marble counter a single block of ice is carved by hand for each drink, set against a long run of spirits, handmade cabinets and period curiosities.

The room reads as a Prohibition-era hideaway: oxblood leather banquettes, art-deco lighting and riveted trunk-style tables that nod to the bar's name. Its running theme is the Bentley Boys, the wealthy amateur racers who made Grosvenor Square their base in the 1920s; their initials mark the tables and a model Bentley sits near the entrance. Live jazz and swing carry the evenings, with a singer available to hire for private nights.

For events the bar takes private and semi-private bookings, or the whole room exclusively, for up to forty seated and seventy standing. Cocktail and canape menus are tailored to the occasion, and the licence runs to 2am from Tuesday to Saturday.
