Sale e Pepe

Sale e Pepe has stood on Pavilion Road, a few steps from Sloane Street, since 1974. For close to five decades it was Toni Corricelli's room, a Knightsbridge trattoria with a loyal local following that kept its Italian classics unchanged. In 2024 the Thesleff Group, behind the Los Mochis restaurants and the later Sale e Pepe Mare at The Langham, took it on, closed it for a full refurbishment and reopened in February with the cooking intact and the interiors reworked by Hamilford Design.

The redesign draws on the idea of a Milanese townhouse: deep blue walls, brown leather banquettes, parquet floors and framed art, with a marble-topped bar set beneath a lit backbar of Italian wines and a reeded host station carrying the restaurant's name in relief. The main floor takes a substantial party, and a curtained-off section of the room works as a private dining room for smaller groups.

For private events the whole restaurant is available for exclusive hire, with the curtained private dining room and a small terrace on Pavilion Road for more intimate bookings. The kitchen tailors menus around the Italian classics the restaurant is known for, from canape receptions to seated dinners, and the group also caters off-site. A DJ can be arranged for an evening, and enquiries run through the events team directly.
