The Oval Restaurant is the dining room of The Wellesley, a townhouse hotel of 36 rooms and suites at 11 Knightsbridge, beside Hyde Park Corner. The hotel opened in December 2012 in a restored 1920s building, with interiors by Fox Linton, and the restaurant keeps to the house's Art Deco register.
The cooking is refined Italian, built on fresh, seasonal ingredients, with a curated wine list and a cocktail list of its own. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the dress code is smart casual.
The room takes private dinners for up to 50 seated and receptions for up to 70, and the kitchen will write a menu for the occasion. Crystal Bar and the cigar terrace sit in the same hotel, so a dinner here can begin with drinks next door.
