/ About
Sale e Pepe has been part of Knightsbridge since 1974, and in March 2026 the Thesleff Group opened this seafood-focused sequel inside The Langham, London. Mare takes over the grand bow-windowed dining room at 1c Portland Place that Michel Roux Jr occupied for years, at the head of Regent Street where the building has looked down a Regency vista since 1865. The menu traces the Italian coastline from Amalfi to Puglia, anchored by a raw display of oysters, langoustines and seabass sliced for crudo, with the tableside theatre the group is known for: Caesar salad and risotto finished at the table, and a returning dessert trolley.
The room is the work of Manuela Hamilford of Hamilford Design, who set a deep azure-blue palette against fluted oak panelling, marble and brass. Tall arched windows run along the curved wall onto Portland Place, curved blue velvet banquettes divide the floor, and a marble-fronted cocktail bar sits beneath three lit arched niches of bottles. Live music plays through dinner, and the kitchen and bar run late.
For private events the restaurant seats around 130 across the main room, with a private dining room for up to 18 for aperitivo receptions or full Riviera dinners. The bar and its Negroni and Champagne trolleys make a natural reception anchor, the whole floor is available for buyouts through the events team, and service continues to 1am Thursday through Saturday.
