/ About
Nobu Portman Square is the signature restaurant of Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, on the corner of the square in Marylebone. Chef Nobu Matsuhisa's menu draws on Japanese and South American flavours, with Black Cod Miso, Rock Shrimp Tempura and Yellowtail Sashimi beside dishes and sakes found only here. David Collins Studio designed the room, and floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the plane trees of Portman Square.
It is a large restaurant, with more than 190 seats across 470 square metres when it opened. The most sought-after places are the eight seats at the sushi counter, held for walk-ins, where you watch the chefs build nigiri and sashimi. Dinner runs until 1am from Thursday to Saturday, and the mood is buzzy rather than formal.
For a private occasion, two dining spaces sit beside the main floor, divided from it by curtains rather than walls, so the restaurant's atmosphere carries through. The smaller seats up to 30 and the larger up to 60. Opened together they take 90 guests for set menus, an omakase tasting dinner or a canapé reception, with the hotel's private dining team arranging the evening.
