/ About
Quilon has held a MICHELIN star every year since 2008, the first South Indian kitchen anywhere to earn one, and under chef Sriram Aylur it still reads the coast of Kerala and the Malabar shore rather than the north-Indian standards most Londoners expect. The cooking leans on seafood, with a long separate vegetarian menu alongside; the room, tucked behind its own street entrance at St James' Court, keeps the pace of a serious restaurant without the hush.
A 2025 redesign by Atelier Wren reset the space in soft coastal tones. Kerala artist Anila hand-painted the palm-frond wallpaper that runs through the dining room, the lighting takes its cue from temple oil lamps, and rangoli motifs are worked into the tiled floor. The bar pours cocktails built on Indian botanicals alongside aged wines and a deep whisky list.
For private events the draw is the Private Dining Room, a single long table for up to twenty under a canopy of brass marigolds, with a dedicated entrance, its own bar and a live kitchen so a party runs entirely apart from the main floor. It suits a milestone dinner or a close celebration where the food, not the volume, sets the tone.
