/ About
A. Wong is Andrew Wong's regional Chinese restaurant on Wilton Road, a few minutes from Victoria, and the first Chinese restaurant outside Asia to hold two Michelin stars. Wong reads the food of China province by province through the tasting menu he calls the Collections of China, drawing on family recipes and his own research into older techniques. The room itself is small and understated: an L-shaped counter in black leather runs past the open kitchen, magenta velvet chairs sit at jade-green tables, and a stone guardian lion keeps the door.
The restaurant takes private bookings for larger groups and can be given over in full for a seated dinner, an intimate option for a milestone or a closely held celebration rather than a party. Downstairs, the Forbidden City bar is a darker, looser counterpoint, its black lattice screens and birdcage lanterns set around a short list of Chinese-inflected cocktails and bar snacks. Enquiries for private dining and whole-restaurant hire go through the reservations team.
