/ About

The Cinnamon Club occupies the Old Westminster Library, a Grade II-listed Victorian building a few minutes from the Houses of Parliament, and has been Westminster's landmark modern Indian restaurant since 2001. Its main dining room is one of the most distinctive in London: a double-height hall lined floor-to-ceiling with the original library's oak bookcases and their leather-bound spines, lit from above by a domed skylight, with a raised mezzanine running along one side. Chef Vivek Singh's cooking pairs the refinement of classical French technique with the spice traditions of the subcontinent, and the room has drawn politicians, press and a well-heeled Westminster crowd for a quarter of a century.

The building holds a genuine range of private spaces, which is what makes it work for events. Off the main hall sit the blue-walled Reading Room, hung with botanical prints and its own bank of tall windows, and the Gallery, a semi-private mezzanine that overlooks the restaurant floor. Below, on the lower ground, the Cinnamon Club Bar is a different register entirely: a low-lit lounge with leather banquettes, carved Indian tables and projection screens, set up for pre-dinner drinks or a later party with cocktails and DJs. The intimate Library Bar, shelved with books and furnished in blue velvet, sits between the two moods.

Spaces run from a twenty-something private lunch in the Library Bar up to a full buyout of the restaurant for a reception, and the in-house events team handles bespoke menus, canapes and paired drinks across all of them. For a DJ-led evening the lower-ground bar is the natural home, with the grand library hall above for dinner.
