/ About
Min Jiang sits on the tenth floor of the Royal Garden Hotel, directly above Kensington High Street, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the full sweep of Kensington Gardens and Kensington Palace. The restaurant opened in 2008 as the London outpost of the original Min Jiang at Singapore's Goodwood Park Hotel — a dining institution since 1982 — and has established itself as one of the capital's foremost addresses for Cantonese fine dining. The name references the Min River in Sichuan Province, and the room carries that sense of unhurried ceremony: warm amber lighting, deep red lacquered panels, restrained table settings, and a panoramic skyline framing every table.
The main dining floor is the view restaurant London rarely produces: Kensington Palace sits at one corner of the garden below, the Shard and the City cluster on the horizon, and Hyde Park's canopy stretches between them. Private events on the main floor are arranged by request — the team handles group bookings and full-floor configurations for celebrations, corporate dinners, and seated events. The in-house bar lounge, positioned at the entrance with its own banquette seating and view, provides a natural pre-dinner gathering point for arriving guests.
The Chong Qing private dining room is an entirely separate space set just off the main restaurant. Its lacquered red walls are hung floor-to-ceiling with black-and-white documentary photography, and the mirror panels carry illuminated Chinese calligraphy — giving the room a character quite distinct from the main floor. Round tables with lazy susans are configured for banquet-style dining, and the room seats up to 20 guests in a genuinely enclosed setting.
