/ About
Hawksmoor St Pancras occupies the old dining rooms of the Midland Grand Hotel, inside Sir George Gilbert Scott's Grade I-listed Gothic Revival building on Euston Road. The group took the space after Victor Garvey at the Midland Grand closed in July 2025, and the design studio Macaulay Sinclair turned it around in ten weeks for an opening on 22 November 2025. Coffered ceilings, pink marble pilasters and long runs of leather booths set the tone of the main room.
The kitchen cooks dry-aged British beef over charcoal, and this is the one Hawksmoor where rare and native breed steaks are on the menu every day, alongside the group's seafood list and its first chef's table. Next door, the former Gothic Bar is now The Martini Bar: a triple-height room of gilded stonework and painted ceilings, entered through what were once Europe's first revolving doors. It keeps later hours than the restaurant, with DJs and live music, and opens onto a covered, heated terrace with its own bar.
For private events the restaurant takes up to 90 seated on exclusive hire, or 40 to 60 in a semi-private section. The Martini Bar holds 120 standing or 50 seated, the terrace up to 60 standing, and Sir Gilbert Scott's Room, a deep blue dining room with a fireplace just off the bar, seats 14. The whole venue can also be taken together.
