/ About

Evelyn's Table sits in the old beer cellar beneath The Blue Posts, a Soho pub that has stood on the corner of Rupert Street for more than two centuries. You reach it down a narrow stair into a single low-ceilinged room built around an L-shaped marble counter, where a dozen guests sit shoulder to shoulder facing the open kitchen. Deep hunter-green walls, tessellated black-and-white floor tiles and brass lamps set along the counter give the space a warm, speakeasy feel that belongs entirely to the night.

The kitchen, led by head chef Seamus Sam, has held a Michelin star since 2022 and serves a set tasting menu to everyone at once, plated an arm's length away. There are no tables to hide behind: the chefs present and explain each course themselves, so a meal here plays more like a performance than a service. With pre and post-dinner drinks available upstairs in the pub or at the Mulwray wine bar next door, the cellar stays a sealed, intimate world of its own.

For a private event the entire counter can be taken exclusively, which makes it one of the most genuinely intimate hires in central London. Twelve seats, one room, the whole kitchen turned over to a single table of guests. It suits a milestone dinner or a close gathering where the point is proximity rather than scale, and the underground setting lends itself naturally to a relaxed, low-lit evening with music once the menu has run its course.
