/ About
Aulis is Simon Rogan's chef's table on St Anne's Court, a quiet cut-through off Dean Street in Soho. It began as the group's development kitchen, the room where dishes for L'Enclume and the wider Rogan restaurants are tested, and it still works that way: a counter for twelve where the chefs cook, plate and explain each course in front of you. Oli Marlow leads the kitchen as executive chef, with Charlie Tayler as head chef, and the menu changes with the seasons and with whatever the team is working on that week.
A 2023 refit doubled the counter to twelve seats and added an adjoining lounge for drinks before or after the meal. The room is small and low-lit, finished in pale stone and dark timber, with the open kitchen and its hanging lamps as the focus. The drinks list leans into English sparkling wine from Sussex, Hampshire and Kent rather than Champagne. Aulis London holds a Michelin star, awarded in 2024.
The whole counter can be taken exclusively for a single party of up to twelve, which makes it one of Soho's more unusual private rooms: a Michelin kitchen booked end to end for a dinner where the cooking is the entertainment. It suits a milestone celebration, a small corporate dinner or a gathering of people who want to eat well and watch it happen. There is no dancefloor and no DJ booth; the evening is built around the food and the people making it.
