/ About
Da Costa is Artfarm's northern Italian restaurant at Durslade Farm, the site outside Bruton it shares with Hauser & Wirth Somerset. It opened in September 2024 in the converted cow shed that was once Roth Bar & Grill, and takes its name from the maternal grandfather of Iwan Wirth, who left the Veneto for Switzerland and opened a restaurant there. The MICHELIN Guide lists it and describes a room like a chic country kitchen: an open wood-fired kitchen, pots, pans and chairs hung from the ceiling, and hand-cut pasta.
The kitchen cooks with beef and lamb from the farm, game from the estate and vegetables from the walled garden at Roundhill, and the wine list leans on small Italian and British producers, including the estate's own vineyards. For groups there are sharing and feasting menus, cicchetti and canapés for a standing reception, and whole animals cooked over the fire on request.
The events team books the whole farm site. A semi-private area in the restaurant seats 30, and the main dining room seats 80 or takes 150 standing. A short walk away, Roth Bar is a working artwork by Oddur Roth in the old Threshing Barn, built from salvaged objects and hired for cocktail receptions, music and dancing. The Oudolf Field and Smiljan Radić's pavilion suit drinks or a ceremony before dinner. On exclusive hire of Da Costa and Roth Bar, with the option of the field and the gallery, the site seats 100 or holds 200 standing, and guests may play their own music through the restaurant's in-built speakers.
