Cheneston's Restaurant at The Milestone

Cheneston's takes its name from an early spelling of Kensington. It is the restaurant of The Milestone, the Red Carnation hotel at 1 Kensington Court, overlooking Kensington Palace and Gardens. The dining room keeps the building's Victorian character: mahogany furniture, warm wood panelling and leaded windows that let in a good deal of daylight.

The kitchen holds two AA Rosettes and cooks British food from seasonal produce sourced across the British Isles, with salmon cured by H. Forman & Son, London's oldest smokery, among its suppliers. Restaurant Manager Paolo Pivato curates the wine list.

The hotel offers Cheneston's as one of its private dining venues, for a banquet of 16 or a standing reception of 40. Menus are written for the occasion, the wine list is tailored to it, and the room is dressed with fresh flowers and table decorations. It suits an anniversary dinner, a family celebration or an early-evening drinks reception in Kensington.
