/ About
Clare Smyth's Chelsea bistro sits a few doors from Sloane Square on Holbein Place, a companion to her three-Michelin-star Core in Notting Hill. Where Core is a tasting-menu flagship, Corenucopia is looser and warmer: a room of pale panelling, olive-velvet chairs and dark timber tables, built around British cooking done with the same precision. The menu reworks the classics, from a Dover sole take on fish and chips to profiteroles, alongside a side list devoted entirely to the potato, a nod to Smyth's childhood on a Northern Irish farm. The senior team, wine programme and Master Sommelier all come from Core.
Downstairs, beside the wine cellar, the Cellar Room is the restaurant's private space. It seats eight beneath a crystal chandelier, wrapped in soft studded-leather walls with its own surround-sound system, and is given over exclusively to a single party, which makes it a natural fit for a private dinner or a small celebration. The forty-cover restaurant above also takes private-event enquiries for larger buyouts.
With a kitchen led by Core alumni and an accessible off-Sloane-Square address, Corenucopia lends a serious culinary name to an intimate hire. The setting is refined and conversational rather than late-night, best suited to seated dinners and daytime celebrations.
