/ About
Wild Tavern opened on 1 December 2019 on the corner of Elystan Street, in the site Japanese restaurant Kiru had held, a few steps from Chelsea Green. Archer Humphryes laid out the 3,600 square feet of dining and kitchen space around a central fireplace, an open kitchen and a wine room. The MICHELIN Guide reads the room as a warm Tuscan trattoria, and the description holds: waxed wooden floors, terracotta walls, arched windows onto the green, deep red velvet banquettes under hand blown glass pendants.
The kitchen is Italian by way of the coast. A raw bar of oysters, tartares and carpaccios runs alongside prime cuts and whole fish from the grill, and the pasta is made in house. Head chef Marco Peri came from Colbert. The bar opens at noon and pours a seasonal cocktail list beside a wine list that reaches well past the obvious, and the fish comes from the Chelsea fishmonger around the corner. Chelsea has kept it busy since it opened.
Wild Group, the company behind Goodman, Beast and Pinna, takes private bookings through one central events desk. Wild Tavern offers a single bookable space inside the dining room, seating twenty, with menus written for the table. The restaurant is offered whole for larger gatherings. The room suits a long table, a birthday, or a launch that wants warmth in place of ceremony.
