Town House

Town House is the restaurant at The Kensington, reached through its own entrance on Manson Place rather than through the hotel lobby. Three interconnecting drawing rooms designed by Alexander Waterworth Interiors span the ground floor of the hotel's four Grade II listed Victorian townhouses, each with its own character: a library-lined room, a fireplace-set salon with a small covered terrace, and a wood-panelled study. The rooms open into one another for a full-suite booking, or can be taken individually.

Modern British cooking runs through breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner, with Isabela Tavares-Vaz now leading the kitchen as Executive Head Chef. Interiors carry the same restrained, layered decoration as the rest of the hotel: patterned wallpaper, mismatched armchairs in green and ochre velvet, a marble fireplace, closer in feel to a private house than a hotel dining room, which is what the 2016 redesign was built around.

The Study, off the main rooms, works as a boardroom by day and a private dining room by night, seating up to 20 for a formal dinner. Town House itself, taken as the full suite, holds 40 seated or 50 standing, and is bookable directly or through the hotel's events team.
