Founded in 2009 by Philip Howard and Rebecca Mascarenhas, with Mark Kempson as head chef, it occupies a quietly elegant shopfront on Abingdon Road, a side street off High Street Kensington that feels firmly neighbourhood despite the postcode. The dining room is low-lit and calm, with sage-green banquettes, round black-framed mirrors, and a painted mural of branches and birds that runs the length of the main wall. Tables are linen-clad, closely but not uncomfortably spaced, and the room seats around 60 across the full space.

The private dining room sits just inside the entrance, separated from the main floor by a glass partition that retains a visual connection without sacrificing acoustical privacy. It seats 14 at a single banquette table beneath a continuation of the same bird mural — a skylight brings in natural light during the day. The room works for lunches, dinners, and intimate celebrations where a serious kitchen and restrained surroundings matter more than a formal events package.

For private hire, the full restaurant is also available for exclusive use. Chef Kempson's cooking draws on seasonal British produce — game, wild mushrooms, coastal fish — prepared with French technique and served without unnecessary ceremony.
