/ About
David Moore opened Pied à Terre on Charlotte Street in 1991 and it remains London's longest-standing Michelin-starred restaurant, independent for over three decades and still holding one star in the 2026 Michelin Guide. The dining room is intimate and design-led: a deep teal scheme, a hand-painted floral mural running the length of one wall, blown-glass pendants and a central skylight crowned with seasonal flowers. The cooking is modern British built on classic French technique, with one of the most decorated wine lists in the country and a serious plant-based menu running alongside it.
The restaurant spans three floors of a Fitzrovia townhouse, which gives it more flexibility for private events than its size suggests. The ground-floor Front Room is a small, exquisitely decorated space for intimate gatherings with butler-style service, while a private dining room on the upper floor sits beneath a long beaded chandelier, lined with framed art and looking onto Charlotte Street. For larger occasions the entire restaurant can be taken exclusively.
This is a venue for refined, music-led private dinners rather than club nights: a discreet, characterful setting where a carefully judged DJ set suits a milestone celebration or launch held across the building.
