HUŎ Chelsea

HUŎ opened on Park Walk in the summer of 2021, on a stretch of SW10 that locals still call Chelsea Beach. It came from the team behind ULI in Notting Hill and cooks in the same register: dishes built from scratch on Chinese, Thai, Malay and Singaporean disciplines, in a narrow room of bleached timber, driftwood colour and a slatted ceiling. In warm weather the frontage folds back onto pavement tables and a small terrace.

A separate bar runs along one side, with counter seating, a shorter menu and a list that takes in Japanese whiskies and vodkas alongside the cocktails. The room stays open until midnight from Monday to Saturday.

For a private event the restaurant divides three ways. Six circular booths sit towards the back, each seating six, and they can be taken together for up to thirty-six in a corner that reads as separate from the main floor. One long banquette table holds sixteen. Take the whole room and it seats sixty. Groups of eight and above choose a set menu or have one written for them, served family style.
