The third season of Prime Video’s The Rings of Power, with Jamie Campbell Bower joining the cast as Celeborn, is listed for a global premiere in London ahead of its release.
The third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Prime Video’s Tolkien series, is listed for a global premiere in London on Tuesday 10 November 2026.
J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay are the showrunners and write the season with Justin Doble. Charlotte Brändström directs and is an executive producer, with Sanaa Hamri and Stefan Schwartz directing the other episodes.
The series is set in the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. Amazon acquired the television rights to Tolkien’s novel in November 2017.
The new season opens five years after the fall of Eregion. Sauron has completed his tower of Barad-dûr and works to forge the One Ring, while the Elves hold Lindon and Rivendell with their Three Rings.
Charlie Vickers plays Sauron, Morfydd Clark plays Galadriel and Robert Aramayo plays Elrond. Jamie Campbell Bower of Stranger Things joins as Celeborn, Galadriel’s husband, and Simon Pegg voices the Balrog.
The season was filmed in the United Kingdom, with location work in Switzerland, and wrapped in October 2025. Prime Video releases the first four of its eight episodes on Wednesday 11 November.
