Asian Art in London runs from 29 October to 10 November 2026, opening with the joint private view at the V&A and running through Mayfair, St James's and Kensington.
Asian Art in London was formed in 1998 by the London dealers and auction houses in Asian art, who worked out that they were competing for the same international buyers on separate dates and would do better on one. It has run every autumn since, run by a board drawn from the trade itself rather than by a fair organiser. The result is not a fair at all: there is no floor, no stand and no ticket, only a fortnight in which the whole specialist trade opens at once.
That structure is why buyers fly in for the period rather than for any single sale within it. A collector can see a Ming jar in a Mayfair gallery, a Japanese screen in Belgravia and a Chinese textile in St James’s in one afternoon, with the specialists in the room and the material out of the case. The auction houses time their Asian sales to it for the same reason.
The 2026 edition runs from Thursday 29 October to Tuesday 10 November. It opens on the joint private view at the V&A and then spreads across South Kensington, Belgravia, St James’s and Mayfair, with late openings on three consecutive evenings. Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Bonhams all call their Asian sales inside the fortnight, and the LAPADA fair on Berkeley Square overlaps it at the Mayfair end.
