Ebenezer: Global Premiere

9 November, Monday, TBC Venue TBC · London

Ti West’s Ebenezer, with Johnny Depp as Scrooge in a new A Christmas Carol, is listed for a global premiere in London four days before its UK release.

Ebenezer, Ti West’s retelling of A Christmas Carol with Johnny Depp as Scrooge, is listed for its global premiere at Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on Monday 9 November 2026. Paramount Pictures releases it in British cinemas four days later.

Depp is best known as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean films. He first showed footage of Ebenezer at CinemaCon in April, and appeared in character as Scrooge at San Diego Comic-Con.

West was born in Wilmington, Delaware, in 1980 and made his name in horror with The House of the Devil and the X trilogy. Nathaniel Halpern wrote the screenplay from Charles Dickens’s 1843 novella.

The film is set in early Victorian London. It was shot in London, in Dublin and at The Historic Dockyard Chatham in Kent, under Paramount’s tagline “The name you know, the story you don’t”.

Rupert Grint plays Bob Cratchit and Ian McKellen plays Jacob Marley. Andrea Riseborough is the Ghost of Christmas Past and Tramell Tillman the Ghost of Christmas Present. Sam Claflin plays Scrooge’s nephew Fred, and Daisy Ridley also stars.
