Tame Impala, Kevin Parker’s one-man psychedelic project from Perth, took the Deadbeat tour to The O2 arena, where Dua Lipa joined him for two songs.
Tame Impala played The O2 arena in North Greenwich on Thursday 7 May 2026, the London night of the tour behind Deadbeat, the project’s fifth album. RIP Magic supported.
Kevin Parker conceived Tame Impala in Perth in 2007 and wrote and recorded most of its albums alone at home. Innerspeaker came out in 2010 and was certified gold in Australia, and Lonerism, in 2012, earned a Grammy nomination.
Currents, in 2015, won the ARIA Awards for best rock album and album of the year. Its opening track, “Let It Happen”, took the APRA Award for song of the year. The Slow Rush followed in 2020.
Parker co-wrote and co-produced Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism in 2024. Deadbeat drew on the bush doof parties and rave scene of Western Australia. He made much of it in his home town of Fremantle and at his studio in Injidup.
The night opened with “Apocalypse Dreams” and ran through “Borderline”, “Elephant” and “Dracula”, with a stretch on a small second stage. Midway through “Afterthought”, Dua Lipa walked on, and the two turned it into “Houdini”, the song Parker worked on with her.
