The Mercury Prize-winning MC behind Konnichiwa brings The Fork and Knife Tour, named for his sixth album, to The Cause in Canning Town.
Skepta, the north London MC whose album Konnichiwa won the Mercury Prize, brings The Fork and Knife Tour to The Cause in Canning Town on Friday 6 November 2026.
Born Joseph Adenuga Jr. in London to Nigerian parents, he grew up in Winchmore Hill. He began as a DJ with Meridian Crew, a Tottenham grime collective that played sets on pirate radio.
He started to MC as the crew broke up in 2005, and with his younger brother Jme he founded the crew and label Boy Better Know. Konnichiwa followed in 2016 with the singles “That’s Not Me” and “Shutdown”, and peaked at number two.
In 2018 he produced and featured on ASAP Rocky’s “Praise the Lord (Da Shine)”, which became a global hit for both artists. He also paints, and Sotheby’s showed a set of his lockdown paintings in 2022.
The tour takes its name from his sixth studio album, The Fork and Knife, which he previewed at Reading Festival in August 2026. In September he released “Innocent Smile”, a single with Suggs and Chase & Status.
