Kid Francescoli, the Marseille electro-pop project behind “Moon (And It Went Like)”, played a London headline at Electric Brixton on Wednesday 14 October 2026. Louder presented the night with the venue.

Mathieu Hocine founded the project in Marseille in 2002. He named it after Enzo Francescoli, the Uruguayan forward who played for Olympique de Marseille, and a self-titled debut followed in 2006.

In 2009 he began writing with the singer Julia Minkin, and her voice became the other half of the sound. Retro synthesisers and a slow groove carry a duet between his low register and her near-whisper. Play Me Again, in 2017, became the project’s most successful record.

On “Moon (And It Went Like)”, Minkin hums and speaks a line first recorded as a voice memo. In 2020 the track spread across social video, reached the first season of Emily in Paris and gathered tens of millions of streams.

The Brixton date belonged to the return Hocine announced for 2026, back to the studio and to live performance. Lovers and Sunset Blue had followed the breakthrough, and the tour behind them crossed five continents.

On stage the project played as a band, with Mathieu Chrétien on drums.
