The band that rebuilt itself around three voices after losing its singer, Black Country, New Road play the London Coliseum with the Orchestra of English National Opera.
Black Country, New Road, the Mercury Prize-nominated band from Cambridge, play the London Coliseum in Covent Garden on Friday 13 November 2026 with the Orchestra of English National Opera.
The band formed in 2018. Their debut, For the First Time, reached number four on the UK Albums Chart, and Ants from Up There went one place higher. Both set saxophone, violin and klezmer inflections in long structures closer to chamber music than rock.
Their singer, Isaac Wood, left days before the second record came out. The remaining five, Tyler Hyde, Georgia Ellery, May Kershaw, Charlie Wayne and Luke Mark, rebuilt the band around three singers. Forever Howlong followed in 2025, and its songs change voice mid-way.
The evening opens English National Opera’s Sessions strand this season, and it is the strand’s only date. It is also the band’s only announced London show.
