Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch

Virgin Hotels London-Shoreditch occupies a purpose-built, nine-storey building on Curtain Road, in the middle of Shoreditch's independent bar and gallery scene. The building opened in 2017, traded first as The Curtain and then as Mondrian Shoreditch under Ennismore and Accor, before Virgin Hotels took it over on 1 August 2024 — the group's first London property and the seventeenth in its collection, run under a long-term agreement with owner Reuben Brothers. Its 120 rooms, which Virgin calls Chambers, sit above a rooftop pool, several restaurants and a members' club, Blue Marlin Ibiza London.

The music runs through the building rather than sitting at the top of it. Marlin's on the Roof, a Mediterranean restaurant and bar under a retractable glass roof, brings nighttime DJs to the pool deck; Hidden Grooves is a 1970s-styled listening bar built around a vinyl collection of more than 2,500 records, with turntables set up for guests to play their own and guest DJs on weekly rotation. On the lower ground floor, BiBo is chef Dani García's first UK restaurant, an open-kitchen Andalusian tapas-brasserie with its own bar and terrace.

For private hire, the headline space is The Manor, a 306 sq m double-height hall that takes up to 300 standing and divides into Manor East and Manor West for smaller bookings. The Restaurant can be taken over in full, and the Founders Room, the Courtyard and the compact Sandbox meeting room round out the building's event spaces, down to BiBo's own private dining room for smaller sit-down groups.
