/ About

South Place Hotel is a five-star design hotel a short walk from Liverpool Street and Moorgate stations, on the corner of South Place in the City. It opened in the summer of 2012 as the first hotel from restaurateurs D&D London — the group renamed itself the Evolv Collection in 2025 — and was designed throughout by Conran and Partners, one of relatively few purpose-built hotels raised in the Square Mile in the past century.

Five private dining and meeting rooms sit on the first floor. Purdey & Steed are a pair of interconnecting rooms behind floor-to-ceiling windows that can run the length of the floor for up to 200 standing; Le Chiffre is a speakeasy-style bar that opens through to Solo and its billiards table; and Peel and Kuryakin are dressed respectively in silver birch panelling and red lacquer, both named after characters from 1960s spy television. A retractable-roofed courtyard, the Secret Garden, adds a planted outdoor option on the same floor.

The top floor holds Angler, the hotel's Michelin-starred seafood restaurant, with its own rooftop terrace over the City skyline. The ground floor is home to Bluebird City, the Chelsea restaurant's City outpost, serving all-day dining and cocktails from its own marble bar.
