/ About

Tom Brown returned in 2025 to the Knightsbridge dining room where he first made his name, the restaurant on the ground floor of The Capital Hotel just off Basil Street. The room he came back to is small and quietly grand: wood-panelled walls, terracotta velvet banquettes, alabaster pendant lights and a tall bay window onto the street. Within a year of opening the kitchen held a Michelin star, the latest in a career that already counted recognition at Cornerstone.

The cooking is seafood-led and precise, but the space itself is the draw for a private event. With around 28 covers it is one of the more intimate fine-dining rooms in the area, and it can be taken on exclusive hire for a seated dinner of up to roughly 34 guests. Adjoining it, The Capital Bar trades in gin and vermouth cocktails behind an illuminated marble counter, a darker, jewel-toned counterpoint to the panelled restaurant.

Upstairs, on a private first floor reached by its own lift and landing, the hotel keeps two further rooms for hire. The Eaton seats a round table beneath floral wallpaper and a circular mirror, with daylight from the street; The Cadogan runs a long table through a grey-panelled room lit by wall sconces and chandeliers. Both suit a discreet dinner where the guest list, not the room size, sets the tone.
