/ About

The White Horse stands on White Horse Street, a few steps from Shepherd Market, on the site of a former piano bar. The Hedonism Group opened it in June 2021 as a wine-led pub, a small sibling to its Michelin-starred restaurant HIDE and to the Hedonism Wines shop, and recast it as a wine bar in September 2024.

The list draws on the full Hedonism cellar of more than 6,000 wines and rare spirits, with around 100 bottles on the bar's own list chosen by the group's food and drink director, Matthew Mawtus. The kitchen keeps to wine bar food: cheeses from La Fromagerie, charcuterie, a Wild Farmed baguette with house butter, and a short run of seasonal small plates.

Studio Caché designed the interiors over two floors, with antiques and vintage pieces chosen by the group's co-founder, Tatiana Fokina. The ground floor gathers around an open fireplace under a round antique mirror, with bistro tables, stools along a dark panelled counter and tall windows onto the street. Downstairs, Equus is the room for private hire: plastered walls, a brick fireplace, leather sofas and long communal tables, taken whole or in part, often for sommelier-led tastings from the Hedonism team. The Vault, a small private room off Equus, seats twelve.
