/ About
The River Restaurant occupies the Savoy's riverside room, the long dining room that looks out toward the Thames from the Strand. Gordon Ramsay reopened it in October 2021 as an all-day seafood restaurant, with interiors by Russell Sage built around a central raw bar where oysters, ceviche and caviar are served beneath rings of low light.
The room reads as a restaurant first and a party room second, which is part of its appeal for a private evening. Banquettes and cane chairs sit on a patterned carpet, tall planting breaks the space into quieter corners, and a martini and champagne bar anchors the centre. Matt Worswick oversees the kitchen, and the menu follows the British coast and the day's catch.
For private events the restaurant offers a dining room set apart from the main floor for up to sixteen, and the whole room can be taken exclusively, seating around eighty or holding a hundred for a reception. The setting suits celebrations, milestone dinners and corporate hospitality within one of London's landmark hotels.
