/ About
The Savoy Grill has traded off the Strand since 1889, and under Gordon Ramsay it remains one of London's grand rooms for dinner. Its Russell Sage Studio interior, unveiled with the hotel's 2010 restoration and refreshed in 2023, is Art Deco to the core: lustrous walnut panelling, gold-leaf detailing, mohair velvet banquettes in rose and oxblood, antique mirrored screens and Swarovski chandeliers, all set over a patterned carpet that the original 1920s table plan still governs. The framed line drawings on the walls nod to the room's guest list, which over the decades has run from Churchill and Chaplin to Monroe and Dean.
The menu is classic British and grill cookery in the Escoffier line, built on seasonal produce, prime cuts carved from the trolley and signature dishes such as Beef Wellington. The kitchen is not Michelin-starred; the star at The Savoy belongs to Restaurant 1890, elsewhere in the hotel.
For private events the Grill offers a spread of options: the intimate Kitchen Table beside the pass and the walnut-lined Wine Room for small dinners, group dining for larger parties within the main restaurant, and full exclusive hire of the whole room for receptions, weddings and corporate evenings. A dedicated events team handles menus and layout, and the room's own bar in scalloped pewter anchors a standing reception.
