Gallery is The Savoy's all-day room, opened in November 2024 in the space that spent a century as the Thames Foyer. BradyWilliams handled the redesign of a listed interior: the columns stayed and were painted burnt sienna, a black-and-white marble walkway was cut through the middle of the room, and a bar was set at its centre, which the room had never had. Above it sits the glass dome, lit to read as daylight at breakfast, sunset at cocktail hour and deep blue after dark.
The design takes its cue from one evening in 1912, when a couple dining here stood up to dance between the tables and the hotel responded by laying a dancefloor. Silhouettes of dancers, drawn from the room's 1912 murals, now run along the walls. Palms frame the bar, antique mirrors and low lighting warm the burnt sienna and clotted cream, and the booths and banquettes are built for staying put. Service runs from breakfast at seven, through the hotel's Afternoon Tea and its thirty-odd teas, on to cocktails.
For a private event the room is taken in exclusivity: a reception, a launch or the close of a corporate evening, with the bar and the kitchen shaping the drinks and the menus around it. Gallery is not sold as a listed hire product, so a booking is arranged directly through the house. It sits inside The Savoy on the Strand, listed separately here, and an event in it draws on the hotel's kitchens, cellar and events team.
