The Ritz opened on Piccadilly in May 1906, César Ritz's own hotel. Its private event rooms are not in the hotel proper but next door, in William Kent House, a Grade II listed townhouse of the 1740s that The Ritz bought in 2005 and reopened after refurbishment the following year. The rooms are arranged around a central atrium, The Grand Hall, where onyx pillars rise past a gilded Victorian staircase.
The Music Room is the largest, taking 72 for a seated dinner and 100 for a reception beneath tall windows and a shallow-arched ceiling. The William Kent Room is the signature dining room: red damask, a coved Italian Renaissance ceiling, 26 around one table. The Marie Antoinette Suite, modelled on a salon at Versailles, sits inside the hotel itself, off the Long Gallery beside The Ritz Restaurant. The garden behind William Kent House takes 100 for drinks in summer.
The hotel publishes no licence hours, so late music is a conversation to have with the events team rather than an assumption. The rooms are used for it, though: the Music Room is laid with a dance floor and a full band rig for parties, and The Ritz Restaurant, which holds two MICHELIN stars, keeps a resident orchestra and dancing on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Music Room
PrivateThe largest of the William Kent House rooms, in a pastel palette of soft pink and green. Tall windows fill it with light under a shallow-arched, intricately detailed ceiling. It takes a dance floor and a full band set-up, and is used for receptions, dinners and wedding ceremonies.
The William Kent House Garden
PrivateA walled garden behind the eighteenth-century townhouse, used for drinks receptions, summer parties and afternoon tea. Ironwork tables sit on the terrace beneath the house's brick elevation.
The Burlington Room
PrivateOn the first floor of William Kent House, with built-in audio-visual equipment that suits presentations as readily as a drinks reception or a wedding ceremony.
The Marie Antoinette Suite
PrivateThe Ritz's original private dining room, in Louis XVI style and modelled on a salon at the Palace of Versailles. It sits within the hotel off the Long Gallery, beside The Ritz Restaurant, and is licensed for wedding ceremonies.
The Grand Hall
PrivateThe atrium at the centre of William Kent House, where the rooms meet. Two onyx marble pillars rise into the space and a gilded wrought-iron Victorian staircase climbs to the upper floors, beneath a mural by Mao Wen Biao. It can be booked with The Wimborne Room.
The William Kent Room
PrivateThe signature private dining room: Italian Renaissance decoration, a coved ceiling and red damask walls, with views across Green Park. One long table seats 26.
The Queen Elizabeth Room
PrivateA bright drawing room with floor-to-ceiling windows over Green Park and an original marble fireplace. Used for receptions, cocktail parties and private afternoon tea, and licensed for wedding ceremonies.
The Wimborne Room
PrivateAn intimate dining room over Green Park, hung with damask silk, with a gold-leaf ceiling, a crystal chandelier and a mahogany table for sixteen.
The Ritz Room
Semi PrivateA semi-private dining room within the hotel, taking a table of up to ten with a menu built around seasonal ingredients.
