/ About

The Mayfair Townhouse runs behind the doors of seven Georgian buildings on Half Moon Street, the address Oscar Wilde chose for The Importance of Being Earnest. Iconic Luxury Hotels opened it in 2021 and dressed it as a dandy's house: peacock sculptures, portrait walls, lacquer-red alcoves and a marble arrival hall, a short walk from Green Park. The hotel describes the effect as a private club without the membership, and that is how the ground floor reads.

Events live downstairs. The Lower Ground is a self-contained floor of connected rooms with its own cloakroom, and taking the whole of it seats 100 or holds 100 for a reception. The Club Room 1 and The Club Room 2 sit either side of The Pantry Club, which works as a service hub, a buffet, a bar with a private bartender or a counter for a chef's demonstration. Off them sit The Den, a red snug for 14 under fox motifs, and Oscar's Study, a mirrored room for eight.

Upstairs the hotel hires by the suite. The Garden Suites open onto a patio and take 20, The Loft Suite has a terrace and the same number, and the Fifth Floor and Skylight suites hold eight each for a lounge-style meeting or a small drinks reception. The Dandy Bar, the ground-floor room under a mirrored ceiling, goes exclusively for 40 seated or 60 standing.
