The Petersham

The Petersham was the Covent Garden restaurant of Petersham Nurseries, the Boglione family's garden and restaurant in Richmond. It sat on Floral Court, a planted courtyard between King Street and Floral Street, and its interiors took their cue from the family home, Petersham House: Genoese chandeliers, Murano glassware, antiqued mirror and contemporary art, with work by Jonas Wood and Frank Gallo on the walls.

The kitchen followed the Slow Food ethos of the Richmond original. Italian cooking was built on seasonal produce, with meat, eggs and vegetables from Haye Farm, the family farm in Devon, and a list of more than 300 Italian wines. Lunch, dinner and afternoon tea were served in a long room of sweeping windows, and the planting was changed with the seasons.

For private events the whole restaurant was let exclusively, for up to 100 seated or 120 standing, and it was licensed for civil ceremonies and for live music and DJs. A private dining room, curtained off from the main room with its own entrance and a terrace over Floral Court, seated 35, and the restaurant's own courtyard took 30 for a drinks reception.
