/ About
Opened in 1927 by King George V and tucked behind Berkeley Square on Stratton Street, The May Fair has spent the best part of a century as one of London's grand society addresses. Now part of the Radisson Collection and freshly reimagined, it keeps the cinematic heritage of its Danziger-era owners while trading the old grandeur for something more nocturnal and design-led.
For an intimate DJ event, the draw is The May Fair Bar. Reworked by Krishma Singh Dear with curved velvet banquettes, a marble bar, ambient orb lighting and a contemporary art display curated with Maddox Gallery, it runs all-day cocktails into the night with the occasional live set. Two enclosed pockets sit within it: the Velvet Room, a marble-bar soiree space draped for complete privacy, and The Booth, a central semi-private corner. A short walk away, the Private Dining Room pairs antique walnut parquet and a green marble fireplace with its own bar and a heated open-air terrace.
The bar can be taken exclusively, the Velvet Room hosts smaller parties behind its curtain, and the private dining suite opens onto the terrace for receptions. It is one of the more genuinely flexible Mayfair hotels for a late, music-led evening that never has to leave the building.
