/ About

The MAINE occupies the last surviving Georgian townhouse on Hanover Square, a 1720 mansion once home to James Graham, Duke of Montrose. Brady Williams reworked the building into an immersive house of rooms that runs from a light-filled ground-floor salon down into brick-vaulted cellars, blending New England brasserie warmth with a current of late-night decadence. Five distinct spaces sit across three floors, so a private group can have a room of its own without losing the energy of the wider house.

The Brasserie is the theatrical heart: a grand performance room where every seat faces a stage framed by white columns, lit by oversized crystal chandeliers, with live jazz, soul and burlesque running most nights of the week. The original Drawing Room keeps the Duke's salon proportions, a mirrored cocktail bar and a capiz-shell chandelier; the brick-vaulted Tavern below trades it for a speakeasy mood and a long zinc bar. Outside, a heated, awning-covered terrace opens onto Medici Courtyard between Hanover Square and New Bond Street, and the mirrored Powder Room hides a DJ booth in a jewel-box of a room.

For an intimate DJ-led event this is a rare find in Mayfair: a venue already built for music and performance, with a resident sound setup, late-night service at weekends and rooms that range from a 30-seat private salon to a stage-fronted dining room. The house keeps its own roster of jazz, Cuban and soul artists alongside guest DJs, so a booking can fold into a programme rather than fight against the room.
