The Connaught Grill

The Connaught Grill occupies a discreet room on the ground floor of The Connaught, reached along a rosewood-lined corridor and marked by no sign at the door. A grill room has stood here since 1955; this incarnation reopened in February 2020, reimagined by the designer John Heah with bespoke panelling, tables and spindle-back chairs by the American studio George Nakashima Woodworkers. Forty-four covers sit among booths of deep red leather beneath a decorative plaster ceiling, with walls of figured walnut and a brass-topped counter running down one side.

The kitchen is British and open to the room, built around a wood-burning grill and rotisserie. Much of the cooking is finished at the table: a Sunday roast carved from a silver trolley, Crêpes Suzette flamed beside the booth. The whole space reads as a private dining room that happens to serve à la carte, quiet and low-lit even when full.

For a celebration or a private dinner, the Grill takes private-party bookings and can be given over to a single group; the hotel's own private dining rooms are available alongside for larger numbers. It sits a few steps from the Connaught Bar and Hélène Darroze, with the hotel's service and events team on hand.
