STEREO

STEREO sits below Covent Garden Market, the London late-night room from Experimental Group, the team behind the city's Experimental Cocktail Club. It draws on the after-dark rhythms of New York and London with a current of Parisian style: a place to arrive for an aperitif, stay for dinner and dance into the small hours. A house band warms the room with funk, soul and R&B before the stage hands over to resident DJs and one-off guest artists, the night sliding into nu-disco, classic house and pop.

The design leans dark and theatrical. A 360-degree bar crowned with a ring of globe lanterns anchors the space, ringed by velvet banquettes, while a mural-clad lounge and a low-lit stage give the subterranean rooms real depth. The kitchen sends out American comfort food, the cocktail list runs to house spirits blended for the venue, and a serious in-house sound system is built for live music and DJ sets alike.

For private events STEREO opens up across the whole venue or in semi-private sections, all with sightlines to the stage. The POOL Bar hides a private bar and pool table; the Stage Bar puts guests beside the performance; a long table set in front of the open kitchen handles private dining. Open Wednesday to Saturday until 3am, it is one of the few prime-postcode rooms purpose-built around music rather than fitted with it as an afterthought.
